How My Hermes History Began

In the beginning there was an H. Then there was a tony boutique on a luxe-only street. Next, there was a simpering salesperson who lisped something like, “You will not get a Birkin in this lifetime.” Did I mention that this is a true story? Well, I heard it not as the toothy little snipe that it was intended to be, but rather as a rallying cry. So, for the luxe-loving Hermes hugging, “I-don’t-take-no-for-an-answer” crowd, I started Createurs de Luxe.

My first, was a neglected black leather Kelly that I adopted in Paris years ago. After a loving rehabilitation, this became my first resale. Since then, I’ve sold hundreds of Hermes treasures of the rarest skins in the most dazzling and exclusive array of colors and sizes. Several so delectable, that they are inseparable from me and my own collection of ubiquitous Birkins.

My personal story is one of world travels; having resided in Paris, Madrid, Ankara, Guadalupe, San Francisco, Chicago and New York. My Manolos have traipsed a fashion path straight to the pantheon of purse perfection… Hermes.

Lauren Bacall said it most succinctly, “My taste is simple, I love only the best”. While many of my international coterie of clients are royals, movie stars and chart-topping recording artists, I treasure my lovely ladies of the social stratosphere and the enviable power wives of sports heroes and titans of industry. Whether their names are on the front page, or her name is as recognizable as Oprah’s… one item is key to their image, their ever-handy and ultra chic Birkin bag.
